Finding the Right Font

When starting a project, the font choices are endless. There are dozens of websites that you can use to download fonts to your computer and use in Cricut Design Space. If you want to learn how to download fonts to your computer, click here. If you already know how to download fonts, do you know how to check for commercial and personal use licensing for the font that you have chosen? If not, I'm here to help!
Whenever you are downloading and using a font that someone has made available online, you always need to be sure to check their licensing restrictions. If you are not planning on selling your projects, you don't necessarily have to worry about the commercial-use licensing, but... if you ever plan on using your designs down the road to sell, you would have to swap out any personal-use only fonts. For this reason, I only use fonts that are free for both personal and commercial use.
The two sites that I use most for finding fonts are DaFont and 1001fonts. Both of these websites have a very easy layout to navigate with their fonts organized into various categories such as script, basic, and fancy. Once you've narrowed down what kind of font you are looking for, select your category. Under the category, a search bar will pop up.
Let's look at DaFont first: Select "More Options" and then check "100% Free". Always remember to hit Submit. This will only bring up fonts that are 100% free for both personal and commercial use! Perfect.

Now, 1001fonts has a really quick and easy button built right into their search bar. Just like the other site, select your category. Then simply click the "Free for Commercial Use" button and always remember to hit Submit. And, just like that, only totally free fonts will appear.

That's it! You're done. You're now ready to scroll through the thousands of free fonts that generous people have created and uploaded online. The possibilities are endless, and I know that you will be able to find one that fits your project perfectly without the need to spend any money (yay!).
Happy Crafting!
With love,
Ashleigh
